1.What is USB mold development cost?

4.What is the biggest concern for customers?

Q1: Who owns the mold after paying the tooling fee?

It must belong to you! This is your private property. Unless you grant written authorization, we absolutely will not use your exclusive mold to fulfill orders for other clients—this is industry standard practice and our professional ethics.

Q2: How long does mold making take? What if I’m in a hurry?

It’s fast! Design drawings can be finalized in 1 day, mold engraving takes 2-3 days, and you’ll typically see physical samples (or receive high-resolution photos). Once the sample is confirmed, bulk production moves at lightning speed, ensuring no delays to your schedule.

Q3: What if I dislike the sample?

That’s the whole point of prototyping! If you find the “missile” too bulky, the color too dark, or any design details unsatisfactory, we can adjust the mold and color before mass production until you’re completely satisfied—no need to worry about getting stuck with something you dislike.

Q4: Why do mold costs for custom USB drives vary significantly between manufacturers?

Answer: Core reasons for price differences:
① Mold machining equipment (high-precision CNC machines incur higher processing costs, leading to slightly higher quotes);
② Manufacturer scale (large factories have established supply chains with transparent pricing; smaller factories may lure customers with low quotes but often add hidden fees);
③ Service inclusions (some quotes cover free trial molding and mold warranty, others do not).

Evaluating reasonableness: Ask for a detailed quote from the manufacturer (types of mold, processing steps, specific services included in mold fee). Compare with industry averages and avoid quotes that are overly low—anything more than 30% below indicated “market price” will often be too good to be true, as it indicates that corners will be cut.

“Customization” is a scary word for many people—it sounds like mold fees and minimum order quantities—way too much trouble. But a generic USB drive that you leave with a client will likely end up in their junk drawer; a “missile USB drive” or “ Logo USB drive” will find its way onto their desk, or better yet, used to impress their peers.
